Steampunk Safari August Collection for Uniquely Creative

What an unusual and beautiful collection for this month from Uniquely Creative. Flowers, butterflies and grunge. Crazy looking wings and safari animals.

This layout was created with a photo of my middle daughter taken long ago by a professional photographer. I have scrapped it before but I still had this large photo and thought this cool collection seemed to work well.

There is a new die called Grungy Numbers and I have used it with rose gold foil card which you can just see on the sides of the layout poking out from the flowers. Its difficult to get a good shot of the gold shining. You can just see it in the photo below. But this die is awesome and can be used on lots of different projects. I like items to have multiple uses if they make it into my craft space.

The kit includes this interesting wavy burlap ribbon which I really liked for the texture and also some kraft coloured parchment paper which I’ve used to layer with the fussy cut florals. You can spy the corner of it under the banner in the photo above.
Gold sequins finish this page nicely. Whilst this collection is predominantly masculine looking when you see the whole range of papers, it is also versatile as Ive shown here with a feminine photo. Hope you love it as much as I do.

Hide and Seek Layout

Here’s a layout I recently created for a kit. It will be available to purchase from A Place To Create which is my local scrapbooking shop in Arana Hills, Brisbane, Australia.

There’s a little bit of stencilling in the background and some ink splatters. You can view the process video below and see how it all came together.
I did a little bit of fussy cutting. There’s a sticker sheet included in this kit with lots of fun elements that I have added to this layout.
Here’s a card I created with all the scraps left on my desk after I completed the layout. I love to do this immediately after creating a layout, no wastage and I have a good stash of cards on hand! Thanks for visiting, I hope you are inspired to create something today.

Gums and Roses by Uniquely Creative

Pretty roses and cute Aussie animals on the July collection. I had perfect photos for this collection.

I painted the watercolour printed sheet with Uniqolour markers and fussy cut them out for this layout. The Fabulous word die is awesome and comes with 2 sizes, great for layouts and cards. This die comes in the kit but you can purchase it separately if you don’t get the kit. I hope you are inspired to create something with this lovely kit.

Uniquely Creative – Mother Nature

My favourite layout for this month is this one that took a few hours to fussy cut the flowers but I love it. I love the stencil that comes in the kit this month. Its a cherry blossom and you can spy it in grey coming from under the edge of the flowers. The Sunshine pearls are also an absolute treat, so bright and lovely. The Blessed word is the die cut included in this months kit which is beautiful script. Love it.
A mixed media layout using lots of the Creative Cuts in this months kit. I wanted to do something without flowers as the kit is predominantly floral. Ive used a stencil from Uniquely Creative called Little Crosses. Also the Mermaid mark making stamp.

The watercolour Cut a part sheet features these beautiful flowers which I’ve hand painted using the UNIQOLOUR markers. Ive used the laser cut sheet as a mat for my photo, it gives a bit of dimension and interest. I painted it to match. The cherry blossom stencil is used on this layout with the uniqolour markers. I scribbled on a palette and used a sponge to apply the colour.
This is a cut file from Lori Whitlock. I loved it so much and changed out the flowers that came with the cut file to the fussy cut flowers from Mother Nature. You can find the link here.
I hope this has inspired you to race off and create something lovely. It’s great therapy for the soul and also memory keeping. Happy scrapping and thanks for visiting.

Uniquely Creative – Winter Rose

My poor blog has been a little neglected now I’m back at work, so here’s a post of Aprils Winter Rose layouts for Uniquely Creative.

Nothing more satisfying than tearing strips of paper and layering them together. Makes an easy layout and a textured interesting effect. It’s hard to photograph gold on your layouts. The lanterns above are die cut from rose gold card.
I’ve hand painted the flowers with watercolour. It’s very relaxing and rewarding to paint and fussy cut, and makes your layout unique. The gold is showing up nicely in this photo.
This is my favourite layout for this month. I love the Kraft background and the hand painted flowers. A simple layout with some background stamping and a few creative cuts (banners) and laser cut pieces. All of the flowers are arranged with adhesive foam on the back, it gives you lots of dimension.
I love to create a few layouts with multiple photos for those that like to scrap lots of pics. I print them out using software called My Image Garden that came with my Canon printer. It lets me print 2 photos to a 6×4 and I love this size for multiple photo layouts. This was a great background page and I hardly had to add anything on to make it look full and interesting just a few layers of different papers behind the photos and a little bit of embellishing.
Another multiple photo layout in a grid design. Not a lot of work but still effective with some nice fussy cut pieces.
This one just using the scraps of leftover paper, tearing and machine stitching in lines. Add a fussy cut bouquet and title, and it’s done. I have also added a few paint splatters.

Hope you are inspired by my layouts today.

Thanks for visiting.

MAY Scrap The Girls Challenge

ITS IN MY SOUL is this months challenge. It’s a bit of a Boho themed look this month so I went with some feathers and flowers.
I loved creating this layout. It was very satisfying to hand paint the flowers and feathers and then I used a black sharpie to add details. I cut the title using my Silhouette Cameo and some black card. The pink and gold circle behind my photo is vintage wallpaper compliments from my sister in Victoria, she always has the coolest stuff to share with me.
I also added some die cuts (Berry Stem Outline die) from Uniquely Creative.
I hope this inspires you to try the challenge at Scrap The Girls.

Using some older products

I love patterned paper, its my weakness and I hoard it. This layout features some of my very favourites. I keep all the little scraps of paper when I do a project and have 4 boxes of colour sorted scraps which I love digging through and finding gems.

There is very little on this layout besides scraps, a doily and a few foam glitter pieces from an old Thickers set….oh and enamel dots because I love those too.
I’ve used a black sharpie to draw around the edges of the papers and page.
Easy peasy!
Happy scrapbook day friends.

My challenge layout

Another challenge layout to share today. Inspiration from Paige Taylor Evans layout for this one.

I loved Paiges layout so much that I tried to stick to the same colour choice and she had a free cut file for the letters which I cut on my silhouette Cameo. A little smear of gesso on the base page and then the cut out title and some embellishments.

Hope you are keeping safe at home! Do some craft!

Yvettes Challenge layouts

I decided to have a challenge with a few of my scrapbooking friends while we struggle through COVID-19. We each take turns to choose a layout we like (from Pinterest usually) and we do our version of it. This is the first layout I did.
I spattered lots of watercolour paint on white card stock.
Ripped a few slices of patterned paper and embellished. I was pretty happy with my finished layout.
Hope you are staying at home safe.

Colour swatches layout share

I recently got a pack of the new UNIQOLOUR MARKERS from Uniquely Creative and made some colour swatches for them. They were so pretty I cut them up to use on this layout.
I did a pale pink wash on white card stock first using the pink marker scribbled on a palette with lots of water and a big brush. Then using the flowing dots stencil from Uniquely Creative and a sponge with a darker pink marker I made a few dots.
I placed a foam square under each swatch and placed them in rows.
I added some wooden elements that I had coloured with Oxide Ink on some of the swatches. Added a border to each with a black sharpie pen.
A few floral ephemera pieces from Bloom Street collection by Paige Taylor Evans to finish it off.
