Ok so I have been admiring Missy Whiddens work lately and wanted to have a go at using her painting technique, which I love. So I looked up one of her process videos and off I went.
My scrapbooking friend Trina came over for the day and we decided to have a crack at one of Missys layouts. This is what we ended up with.
above is Trinas layout
and this is my layout. We both were really happy with our effort and thank you Missy for sharing your wonderful work.
I have been making cards again today, using up some old papers and my new cut file from the cut shoppe for the title on the card. I have used watercolour (twinkling H2Os) to do the background.
One of my layouts was on the cover of Scrapbooking Memories Magazine featuring Remys cute little face. I also was asked to do a feature page with a layout and card made from the scraps….will have to find that and post it.
Was thinking I might enter the Scrapbooking Memories Masters this year, which made me think of this layout.
I think I need more practice with these sprays and gelatos but they add such a rich colour element to the page and I’m liking it a lot. This one is pretty messy but I had fun trying a few new techniques.
I love the colour combo in this months Jot mood board. The bright splash of raspberry and peach is just gorgeous with the other cooler colours.
I have been trying out paint techniques on my layouts this week. Applying gesso first and using Heidi Swapp mists and Faber Castell gelatos.
I’ve used some Ruby Rock It old paper I found in my stash, and a basic grey sticker sheet cut into pieces. Often I want to clean out and throw away some of my old stash, but you never know when you may need it!
This photos of Remy and I was a selfie we took before an early morning swim one day at the start of the school holidays. She is a fish this kid! We went for a swim a few times a week over the holidays.
My sister gave me some old vogue pattern pictures she bought at a garage sale. I fussy cut the girls out to use on some vintage style cards. Quick and easy and in my card stash for when I need them.
January birthdays coming up already!
