Love you!

Just a little card for my loved ones birthday recently. Some Kaisercraft paper, and some lovely St Tropez Collection from Prima. I liked this paper so much I didn’t want to cut it up, however its very cathartic to get your scissors out and carefully cut things up and enjoy looking at the beautiful colours. I have enough paper from this collection to do a nice layout, and I will be happy. This has been a long time habit of mine, and I’m sure some of you will understand…..I love the patterned paper so much I keep it, or buy 2 sheets and use one but stash the other….I can’t bear to cut it up! Silly really because we keep it if you are using it on a layout, then its preserved in plastic sleeves and we look at it lovingly, so these days I jump straight in and make a layout using the favourite pieces!

Thanks for visiting.

Beach Photo

I have so many beautiful beach photos and want to scrapbook them all, this one is a favourite from when we visited Rainbow Beach and went on a day trip to Teewah Beach. You have to drive through bush for a while to get here, and its just gorgeous.

I decided to put things on an angle for this layout which I thought looked good at the time but now wish I hadn’t. It makes the whole layout look uneven. I thought it would look a little like a postcard thrown on the table with other mail…..so the other patterned papers were off centre also. I love the colours I chose. Theres a bit of October Afternoon, Heidi Swapp and Pink Paislee, a Kaisercraft template used for the pink texture paste and some Shimelle goodies, Cocoa vanilla studio chipboard and die cuts. Theres some items from my stash that I don’t even know where they have come from. The pink heart paper from Echo Park Paper Co.

And a little bit of vintage trim from my Mum and sisters garage sale hunts in Victoria. They always send me little bits and pieces of goodness from long ago. Look at the little pearls on the trim!

This just makes me happy. So I had an old piece of patterned paper that I love, green of course! I finally found the perfect photo for it.

I was sifting through my drawers and containers pulling out all the lovely green things and pulled this layout together fairly quickly. I really like how it turned out. Most of the items are quite old. The newest item on the layout would be the puffy hearts by Shimelle.

The paper is Crate Paper DIY shop. Maggie Holmes fabric polaroid frame, some Bella Blvd stickers and Shimelle chipboard. Its good to use some old stash, I still love all of the old things. I keep buying new stuff and it inspires me to do new things but I do love to drag out my older stash and scratch through it, theres always a gem to be found.

I stash patterned paper for years…..I have some from 10 years ago and still love it and don’t want to cut it, but lately I have been using it on my layouts, then I get to see it as its featured in a layout in an album, and it makes me happy its not sitting in my paper stash anymore.

Thanks for visiting my little blog.

Cute Card

Photo 4-7-17, 9 34 15 am

Just had to make a cute card with lots of old and new bits from my supplies. I found the cute canvas polaroid frame in a box full of old bits and pieces. My favourite washi tape….hard to see it, but it’s the little coloured flowers at the foot of the fence. The house is a cut file on silhouette, it was a houseboat and I have altered it a little, painted with watercolours and a bit of hand doodling in black pen, including the fence.
