IMG_E2951

Ok so we have a mixture of Pinkfresh Studio and Kaisercraft, along with some random bits and pieces found in my stash.IMG_E2952

The wide cotton ribbon on the card and the wooden spool under the card is from one of my favourite shops “Provincial” its a homewares and furniture shop but they have amazing ribbon and its on the coolest wooden spools.IMG_E2969

That little deer is just the cutest! Some vellum with gold hearts that I found in my christmas stash. I have made a whole bunch of Christmas cards this week, I pulled out all my old Christmas stuff and just used what I had. I did purchase the Mint Wishes collection from Kaisercraft, so have used a bit of that. I will take pics of the other cards to share in my next post. Thanks for visiting.

Frida

Frida Kahlo, my favourite artist. I painted this with acrylic paint and added gold leaf. This was a canvas I painted for a fundraiser at our school art auction. I found this picture on Pinterest and loved it so much I decided to recreate it. Some people at the Auction said it looks like the Queen, but with flowers in her hair and those eyebrows, the Frida lovers will know who it is.

Card love tonight

Im reposting this card because it’s a favourite!

Oh how I love an embossing folder! Especially one that embosses little doilies…so sweet. Some random papers, Crate, Heidi Swapp, Authentique. All random leftovers from the previous layout.IMG_E2862

And another, in similar style with the rest of the scraps….no wasting! The gold leaf was cut on my Silhouette Cameo using a cut file from The cut shoppe and backing with vellum.

layout love

Rose gold paint by Dina Wakely is just gorgeous. Used with a Kaisercraft stencil here.

Quite a few papers and elements from old stash.

Pink flocked vellum is a very old piece I have saved for a long time. Not even sure where it came from. Some Heidi Swapp papers and Crate paper. The script paper is Authentique. Canvas frame from one of Maggie Holmes old collections for Crate paper.

Weekend layout

Photo 5-11-17, 4 30 16 pm

A beach layout of myself and my baby girl Remy. I bought a new template with tiny crosses on it, so I did blue texture paste on the whole 12x12cardstock. It turned out so cute. Whilst rummaging through my stash of embellishments I found the piece of cardstock with the fish stamped on it. I had been experimenting using watercolour paints with stamps and kept it. I liked the colours together with this layout and it added a bit of whimsy.

The blue chevron paper is from Simple Stories, its such a beautiful colour.

American Crafts Thickers were used for the title ” Weekend”

Sequins in these colours just remind me of the shimmery blue sea, and there were a few epoxy dots in the ocean colours that I have added.

Those cute blue vintage buttons were from an old christmas ephemera pack from October Afternoon, with a bit of string tied in the middles.

a very fast layout

IMG_2519

I have been making everything in shades of blue and green lately, and heres a quick layout I recently created. Some white gesso on a heavily patterned background seemed to work well, some Dylusions sprays then some Heidi Swap colorshine sprays, so pretty with their iridescent particles. I’ve used some Kaisercraft collectables and die release paper that I just love adding to layouts and cards (it’s the black and white script paper at the back of the photo).

Dreamcatchers today

IMG_2168

I made this dreamcatcher a while back now and I still love it. It hangs in our lounge room and was the first one I made. The girls all made one each for their bedrooms and we had a lot of fun choosing colour schemes and trinkets to go on them. I have since made a few others, mostly for other people and presents.IMG_2238IMG_2241

This blue one is another favourite. I used lots of torn strips of vintage sheets and fabric scraps, ribbon, lace and a hand dyed doily for the centre. I wrapped a hoop with torn sheets and used white bakers twine to weave it onto the hoop, then its just a matter of choosing all the ribbons and lace and tying them on. I mostly decorated with large flowers using a hot glue gun.
