I started with some black Bazzill card, painted it with clear gesso and stuck a few strips of patterned paper to it, painting gesso over the patterned paper to stick it down.

I added some paper doilies at the same time. The gold one was toned down with the clear gesso.

Some teal acrylic paint ….it was looking a bit messy here but I really liked the colours and I just kept an open mind. I let it dry for a while before adding some texture paste I have tinted with pink and used a stencil with little crosses on it, to add some texture.

Added some die cuts and hand cut patterned paper and bright red stitching. The colours are really bright and I love how it turned out. Heres some close ups of the finished page. I stuck onto another piece of card to keep it flat, as the paint and gesso buckle the paper a little. When I stitched it around the edges, I had the extra card at the back and it flattened out a lot.

mini Christmas cards

IMG_3038

Some simple mini Christmas cards to use as tags on special gifts. I have used a mixture of papers and ephemera on these, whatever was left on my desk after a Christmas card making session.

The ribbon with Christmas trees on it is from Provincial a few years ago, I love it and have hoarded it, but there comes a time when you need to use the pretty things and move on!

mixed media layout love

This has to be one of the most enjoyable layouts I have created in a long time. The whole layout came together quite quickly, besides the drying time, as there are a few layers of paint, paper texture paste and more paint. Then a few layers of embellishments! Mostly Crate paper, but have used a Kaisercraft template for the texture paste and Dina Wakely rose gold paint.

lots of Christmas cards

We had some rainy days recently and I needed some Christmas cards for all the lovely people I get to work with. I had a big stash of christmas stuff from previous years and I hate to throw things out so I pulled it all out and made a whole bunch of cute cards. I think they turned out pretty good!

There was a bunch of different things used, Kaisercraft, October Afternoon, Pinkfresh Studio, Making Memories, Heidi Swapp, along with some vintage items.
