more fish…

Loving this new paper from the Flamingle range by a Polish company.

I used the last of the beautiful fish, I LOVE THEM!!!!

A very busy background and I have used loads of layers of patterned paper, mostly old stash pages, but I like the crazy mix I have going on. Its green, and thats my fav colour!

my 12 journal pages finished

Number 4 is now journaled on, I just forgot to re photograph it. Also number 11 is journaled on, its white pen on the right hand edge, its hard to see in the photos.

I must say Im pretty happy with these pages, and now Im going to try one without the help of my tutor..Wilna, and without her delightful illustrations. They may not be as pretty as these 12 but I must keep trying.

page 12 of my art journal

This is the last page of the Wilna Furstenberg class I too recently. I have enjoyed every minute of the class, watched the videos many times over and spent hours playing in my journal. I had a few set backs with the last page, but kept working, and finally it turned out ok. I wish I had of had a zebra on my patterned paper like Wilna did, but I tried using a few old book pages.

This time I think I rushed it a bit, as Im so eager to start another page.

I didn’t wait for it to dry between applications of holding paste, and thats a big mistake. Anyway Im happy with how it turned out and the texture I reapplied and I love it. Its a stencil by Celebr8 called Succulent garden.

layouts this month

IMG_5167

I have had the calico house forever!!!! I actually had 2, one was spotty and I recently used it on another layout. This one finally got its day. I cut the 3 flying ducks out using my silhouette cameo machine, they represent the beswick ducks my grandparents had on their wall for as long as I can remember.

Layout of Ella, I started out painting the background, and then added some texture paste, more paint, then Heidi Swapp paper and letters are ombre foiled.

Using some scrapbooking paper as my starting point….this paper was from Ruby Street when I lived in Cairns and first started scrapbooking. I love it a lot but it has to be used, and although I end up covering most of it, I know its there.IMG_5155

Some acrylic ink and white paint and lime green ink…..

IMG_5158

Prussian Blue paint, Im not liking what this is looking like here and had to keep adding to it….

IMG_5178

This is it so far, I really love all the crazy colours so I think I will leave it at that and do some journaling on it, just waiting for it to dry.

more art journal pages

Well actually just art at the moment, as Im patiently waiting for them to dry so I can journal on them. This is the hard part…waiting for it to dry.

IMG_5149

This one turned out completely different to what I was expecting, its weird colours and strange paint strokes, must have been the mood tonight! I love it because its really interesting, so much going on here…back to work in the morning after 2 lovely weeks off with my girls.

IMG_5148

I’m still working on this one, but it needs to dry before I can paint some more. I love the black on this, my stencil didn’t work, but I still like what happened here. Crazy pop of colour, love the pink and purple.

part 2 of art journaling class…

This is the 2nd part of Wilnas class I’m taking…..inkpads, loved it, love it!!!

This is the start of my 5th page…

IMG_5141IMG_5142

I think this turned out really lovely, and now I have just photographed them and put them on here, I really love them all and am so pleased I bought this class, Thank you WILNA.

IMG_5143Next one is also using ink pads as a starting point, love this too. I laughed about Wilna saying each of her pages was her favourite but now I know…its hard to choose when they are all so pretty to look at. I have used the same illustration from Wilnas gorgeous collection, but I just loved them so much.

IMG_5144

This is the 7th page, I think it needed some white space, but I chose to try something different, still very striking.

IMG_5145

This is the 87th page of the ink pads section, and it was a weird combination, but I feel it turned out ok. Each one is so different….now to start on section 3 which is patterned paper…..

IMG_5129

This is the start of the 9th page using patterned papers and Im loving it alot so far, the colours are crazy bright, I dont really like purple but this is gorgeous together, green is my favourite and the Liquitex inks in green are fabulous. I will finish this page tonight and hope to start the last 3 pages soon but I go back to work tomorrow and its hard to get art time in each day!

card making

I made this card for my sister, I have used one of the print and cut files from my art journaling class by Wilna Furstenberg

Some gorgeous vintage trim that my sister has given me and also the lace.

Papers are from Kaisercraft, Cocoa Vanilla and tags from Crate Paper, Heidi Swapp gold colorshine and gold sequins.

Fish cards …I think my mum saved these fish illustrations from an old book, I have saved them because they were so lovely, finally used them on some cards and a layout.
