Life is beautiful

I enjoyed making this layout with it’s unruly background and different stickers and tags down one side. The background paper is by Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

Fussy cut flowers are Crate paper and a Kaisercraft stencil with Liquitex light moulding paste then watercolours.

AFL Layout

The colour scheme here has made me smile. AFL is not a pretty sport and when I decided to scrap this photo of Remy at her Grand Final, I was worried about the colour scheme. I went through my supplies and found this packet of vellum accents from Cocoa Vanilla Studio-Bohemian Dream. They seemed to work with the colours in the photo and because they are so vibrant and pretty, it was easy to add them onto the page.

I primed my page with gesso first.

I used a Heidi Swapp stencil and Liquitex modelling paste on the background, then some Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers and lots of water to get that gorgeous pink shade.

My journalling is in the little yellow chevron bag to the right of the photo on a tag.

I cut AFL out on my Silhouette Cameo using plain black card and backed the whole layout with Cocoa Vanilla Studio black and white striped paper, its stitched around the edges on my machine.

A few tiny diamontes.

holiday layout

Some mixed media fun in the background of this layout. I used gesso first, then added some patterned paper using modpodge, I love this look but I don’t love it when the paper curls! I let it completely dry before adding some blue ink from the Liquitex acrylic ink range in cobalt. Im not usually a big phot user but I just love this particular picture of Remy while we were on holidays recently.

The papers in the background are from Little Yellow Bicycle, Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Crate Paper. The banner is using Maggie Holmes Carousel range by Crate Paper and a few random bits from my stash. I have sewn it onto a piece of Heidi Swapp patterned paper which helps to flatten it out. You may be able to see that I have used a Kaisercraft stencil and some Liquitex light modelling paste to add some raised crosses to my background, they are mainly at the bottom and very subtle.

Its Sunday morning and I’m off to finish a layout and make some more Christmas Cards.

I just seem to find pleasure in these colours lately, the texture paste is fast becoming a staple on my cards and layouts. The paint on top of the texture paste make my heart happy and the colours on this card make my heart sing! That is all.

and finally some cards

A post at last. Life has been busy and while I have made loads of cards and scrapbook layouts, its always a little challenge to find time to get them online. I have been doing a lot of painting and texture paste work lately and had some scraps to use on cards. The pink background here is texture paste with stencil and then watercolour paint over the top. Gorgeous effects, I almost hate to hide it under that pretty stuff! A crate paper project life card with the swan on it, and a few bits and pieces cut out on my Silhouette Cameo. A gathered pink tissue paper frill just made by sewing straight stitch on a strip of tissue paper and pulling the thread to gather it.

Some old bits and pieces and the cute cat in the frame is one of Maggie Holmes new release Willow Lane free printable.
