Sweet 16

My daughter has a love for dachshunds, so I made this card for her 16th birthday.

I used some lovely paper from Cocoa Vanilla Studio to start with. I hand painted some bright yellow watercolour paper and popped that on with a project life card from Maggie Holmes and a Crate Paper tag. Theres some vellum under the stack with gold dots on it too. The gold dresden trim was from my stash, a garage sale find from my sister in Victoria.
I love that stuff.
I cut the sweet 16 out using my Cameo Silhouette and some mat gold card. The ribbon was hand dyed using Heidi Swapp colour shine in Mustard. I love how it goes crispy when it dries.
The dog was cut on my Silhouette, I found a pic online and used the trace tool. I modified it a little and was happy with how it turned out.
This font is Bromello, I really like it.

Hello Chef

These 3 crazy Chef friends I use to work with in Cairns will be lifelong mates.
A fun layout with lots of messy paint and stamping. I added the butterfly stickers to remind me of the blue butterflies in Cairns.
I found some old kitchen themed stamps I used on my back ground. Most of the items used on this layout were really old stash stuff. I just wanted to have a play about with some old bits and pieces and see where it went. The blue colour was clear gesso mixed with French Blue Artisan Powder from Prima. It was so vibrant that I decided to add some white gesso onto to soften everything. Golly! That powder is sooo pigmented!

hair layout

I loved scrapping this pic of Ella modelling hair. I decided to just go with Black and White ….it didn’t need colour.

I used Liquitex carbon black acrylic ink to paint lines on the background card.
Some Heidi Swapp stickers, Mimco label, Crate paper and bows.
I used a Heidi Swapp stencil with texture paste to create the background over the ink lines.
