I love using texture paste. If you haven’t had a go at this cool technique, now is the time to try it. Join me at A Place To Create in Arana Hills for a day of crafty fun using all the goodies from Uniquely Creative. February saw Uniquely Creatives new paper range “Urban Garden”. With beautiful florals and butterflies. They also released their new UNIQOLOUR water soluble brush tip markers, all of which we use in this class. If you are a cardie and not a scrapbooking layout lover, you can cut the main cardstock up to make cards using all the same techniques. There are lots of elements you can use on a set of cards instead of making the layout. The beautiful Jo Herbert from Uniquely Creatives Design Team is hosting a card class the same day! There will be make and takes using all the new goodies from Uniquely Creative. April 19th is a big day of all things Uniquely Creative. More details to come.
A picture of my middle daughter Lili last year at a concert. I found this paper at my local paper craft shop and LOVED it. So pretty! Its by My Minds Eye and the range is called Splendor. Its from 2018. Because it was an older range, there was only some of the papers left. So I have used some lovely pieces from Heidi Swapps Honey and Spice ephemera pack to go with it.Some simple machine stitching around the edge of each hand cut piece is all I needed. Every piece was already so pretty. There’s a little chipboard piece from crate paper just there. The text paper was so beautiful I made sure I popped an extra big piece of that down the left side of my photo and added a couple of enamel hearts.I used some watercolour paint to make some little splatters around the layout. It seemed plain, but I loved the papers so much I didn’t want to add much more.I’m happy with the simplicity of this layout and it came together in less than an hour. Sometimes I work on layouts for days! Thanks for visiting my blog.
I’m right there… bottom right corner. Very unexpectedly I had a lovely message from Krisy and I joined these lovely ladies on the 2020 Scrap The Girls Design Team.
February’s Challenge is a glorious coloured mood board.
I decided to base my layout on the colours, and the black and white dots. With a pop of rose gold. I’ve used some Cocoa Vanilla goodies on this layout, and some rose gold card I purchased from Spotlight. A bit of mixed media in the background using watercolour paints and texture paste for the black dots. There’s also a paint chip card from the hardware tucked under my photo as it was the right pink I needed. I’ve used the Wonky Punchinella Die from Uniquely Creative with the rose gold card behind everything. And cut the scallop border out using my Silhouette Cameo. Some machine stitching around the edge and to attach the scallops. This picture is of my 2 youngest daughters after they took the braids out of their hair. They were loving the curls it made.
February’s Creative Kit Club is full of beautiful goodies in lovely purples and greens. Heres a layout I created using all the gorgeous goodies in the kit including the flowing dots stencil and the mark making stamps. Some fussy cutting happening here but you could use the creative cuts instead. Check out my process video below. And this layout using the printed watercolour sheet and the Uniquely Creative Watercolours.
