Steampunk Safari Collection

Using the awesome Steampunk Safari collection from Uniquely Creative. This is the August 2020 collection and is really unusual with wings and cogs and funky things. There’s also a sheet of florals which I really loved.
Ive also used the Grungy Numbers die, the Nature Stencil and Arithmetic Mark Making Stamp that comes in the kit.
I’ve used Distress Oxide ink – Fired Brick for the stencilling and stamping. Rose gold mirror board for the die cutting.
Ive used Kraft cardstock as my background, mat for photo and the banner piece.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Pretty mini sized cards

I found some mini white envelopes in my stash last week and decided to use some scraps from a previous project to make some little cards to go with them.

Its really satisfying to use up every last little piece of product from a project. These cards are all 3.5″ x 4.5″. I have mostly used Kaisercraft With Love collection of papers.

With some added pink cardstock on each one I was able to make the scraps go even further. Using the offcuts from a previous set of bigger cards.
Some gold foil card also made things go a little further. Seam binding ribbon is my absolute favourite and my local scrapbooking shop just received a big stock of all the colours. I got a few meters, this watermelon colour is gorgeous!
I also am loving tulle at the moment, its soft and pretty and very easy to use, not having to worry about the way ribbon twists and falls, tulle just goes on and looks good, bow, knot, whatever! Love the look too!
I also have a drawer with tiny ribbon offcuts that I can’t bear to throw away because they are so pretty. This little scallop mint piece is from that draw. The dies are all from Uniquely Creative.
Another die from Uniquely Creative, this is in a set with other words and is one of my most used dies. Another little piece of pink velvet ribbon from my stash.
The gold trim is from a garage sale my sister went to years ago. Its called Dresden trim I think, I have silver and gold in different patterns. Another die from Uniquely Creative and more tulle.
Cross stitch circle frame die from Uniquely Creative has to be my most used die when card making. It is super versatile and I find I just keep reaching for it. It makes cute round openings for a shaker card or the round frames above. Dream die also from Uniquely Creative.
This one is using the Cross stitch circle frames die again in a different way. A sentiment from an old Kaisercraft collection. I’m very happy to use up the rest of the paper on my desk and also to put some little envelopes to use. Thanks for visiting.

Steampunk Safari August Collection for Uniquely Creative

What an unusual and beautiful collection for this month from Uniquely Creative. Flowers, butterflies and grunge. Crazy looking wings and safari animals.

This layout was created with a photo of my middle daughter taken long ago by a professional photographer. I have scrapped it before but I still had this large photo and thought this cool collection seemed to work well.

There is a new die called Grungy Numbers and I have used it with rose gold foil card which you can just see on the sides of the layout poking out from the flowers. Its difficult to get a good shot of the gold shining. You can just see it in the photo below. But this die is awesome and can be used on lots of different projects. I like items to have multiple uses if they make it into my craft space.

The kit includes this interesting wavy burlap ribbon which I really liked for the texture and also some kraft coloured parchment paper which I’ve used to layer with the fussy cut florals. You can spy the corner of it under the banner in the photo above.
Gold sequins finish this page nicely. Whilst this collection is predominantly masculine looking when you see the whole range of papers, it is also versatile as Ive shown here with a feminine photo. Hope you love it as much as I do.
