something blue card class

Here’s the other 3 cards in the set of 6 using the lovely Something Blue Collection by Uniquely Creative.
The quilted background was created using an embossing folder and adding sequins to each point.
I used Distress Oxide in BLUEPRINT SKETCH to create the inked background.
Visit one of my previous posts to see the other 3 cards up close.

Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi there! Here’s a recent layout I created for my local scrapbook shop. They sell this in a kit @aplacetocreate Arana Hills. Its got lots of beautiful Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers.
Beautiful vellum and papers.
A little bit of fussy cutting and the silver die cut is a new Bee Arty Die-Abstract Circles, I love the randomness of these abstract circles and they make it so easy to add some extra bling.

The stencil used on the background is by Paper Roses-Flourish.
Hope you are having a crafty day today!

Painted Roses

I had a friend over and she wanted to paint some roses! I pulled out a mass of acrylic paints and some watercolour card. We loved them so much we fussy cut them out and created a layout.
They were pretty easy to layer up with paint in the same tones, just keep adding white.
I used some Pinkfresh Studio papers to go with them. Hand cut some little frames and tags.
Then I added some white NUVO drops. Hot pink mini doilies from Doodlebug Design Inc.
A little thin wash tape in pink and gold.
Some watercolours in a quadrant in the background, then machine stitching in a big cross to divide. I did use some clear gesso on the white card stock first.
I wanted to use them all but it was overkill…..
Those pink doilies are awesome!
Some hot pink seam binding on the tag to finish.
This was a lot of fun and very satisfying painting the roses. I think I might do some more!

Happy Sunday everyone.

Caravan layout with cut file

I love a caravan! If I can think of a way to use one on a layout or card, I will! They are one of my absolute fav things. So fun to embellish and they look sweet. This was made a few months ago. I saw the free cut file on Hip Kit Club Facebook page and thought I’d do a layout.
I went through my old scraps and backed each letter with a fun coloured patterned paper.I used foam adhesive on the back to give extra dimension.
I chose lots of brights to go on the vans which I cut using my Silhouette Cameo.
I used black vintage buttons for wheels. I have also added some Uniquely Creative Craft Sprinkles.
Some thread to make banners on some vans.
Washi tape for the windows.
Cute word stickers to embellish.
This one has a chipboard word on it. I love them all. I used a black Sharpie pen to do faux stitching on each van.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Something Blue Collection for Uniquely Creative in November

Mixed media backgrounds are so much fun, especially using Distress Oxide Ink.

This is on a slimline card base and uses mostly the Creative Cuts.

Another background using Distress Oxide Ink, this time with a blending brush through the Uniquely Creative Nature stencil. Some fussy cutting and a little gold thread.
The new Delight die is fun and fabulous on a card. Here I have die cut it in blue card and in white card and off set them. Background is Distress Oxide Ink in Blueprint Sketch using a blending brush. Ive also used one of the Uniquely Creatives Mark Making Stamps – Arithmetic in the background. The new Butterfly Builder die is pretty neat too!

These are a few of the cards I will be teaching at the 2020 retreat on the Sunshine Coast.

Have a great weekend and make sure you take time to do some craft!
