Roots & Wings by Uniquely Creative

Love the new Posey mini stamp which I have used in the background with some Oxide inks and lots of water.

This Me & You title is the new die cut for this month and I have used black card to cut it then white card and hand painted the white to match the stamped background. Its a bit tricky to glue them together if you are adding foam to the back for dimension, but looks good.
The watercolour cut apart sheet is so pretty. I cut all the florals out and just used them in clusters, no paint needed on them as the background was doing all the work.

Get crafty this long weekend with Roots & Wings! Happy crafting friends!

Uniquely Creative Roots & Wings

Uniquely Creatives new April Collection is Roots & Wings and I’ve teamed it with the yellow card , yellow seam binding and the caravan die to create this cute card.

I just love the new mixed leaves die used here with the blue flowers.

The side panel on the caravan is a piece of die cut white cardstock stamped with the new Posey Mini Mark Making stamp and coloured with Uniqolour markers.

The caravan is die cut from Kraft and I have embossed it using the new Daisy embossing folder.

I hope you have a go at creating something fun with this unique collection.

Scrap The Girls March Inspiration

CHILD OF THE WILD

Hi friends, heres my March layout for Scrap The Girls. The inspiration was Child Of The Wild and I loved the earthy colours and the cat in the pic, so took my inspiration from that and here’s what I created.

I have used lots of old stash items and really enjoyed creating this layout. It has many layers and it is very textured. A shame you cant feel it lol, it has tulle down the left hand side and theres vintage tissue paper and paint and all things good!

I love creating like this, using up all the goodies I have saved all these years and finally putting them onto something.

I hope you have a go at creating a layout using this as inspiration. Post to our Facebook group.

Procreate on my iPad

This is Narelle! I don’t know her really, I just drew her on my iPad and decided she needed a story.

One of my daughters-Lili, (she’s my middle daughter) is 16 years old and has scoliosis. She was only diagnosed about 2 years ago and was immediately braced for 12 months. Unfortunately this didn’t work for her and now she is about to have surgery.

I take her to a private Pilates class once a week since she’s been out of the brace to keep her spine supple and her core strong for this life changing surgery.

I sit in the car and wait for her at Pilates each Thursday evening and I took my iPad. I just doodled mostly, but 2 weeks ago I started drawing ladies. It has been my favourite thing to do lately and completely takes my mind off of the everyday things that make me worry.

Narelle was the First Lady and since then, I have drawn one to two ladies each day and post them on my Instagram.

Mostly they are made up with some random thoughts but some are friends and my daughters even requested one of them. Im not great at likeness to real life but I do enjoy drawing and colouring on the iPad. I use Procreate and an Apple Pencil. I also have a fabulous paper like screen saver on my iPad and it just feels like Im drawing on paper.

Technology certainly is fantastic.

I will share my girls on here as well as my crafty adventures. I hope you can see yourself in some of my drawings and relate to them.

Lilis spinal fusion surgery is this Wednesday, I think there will be lots of drawing this week as I sit by her bed while she recovers.

Painting roses class

I recently taught a class at my local scrapbooking shop “A Place To Create” in Arana Hills a class where we painted roses on watercolour paper with acrylic paints and then cut them out to use on our cards or layouts.

This is one of my layouts I used as an example. I love creating my own embellishments and this was an easy and cheap way of doing so. Most of us have some paints laying around that we can use. It really can be any kind, watercolour paints also are great. Once you get on a roll with these you can’t stop and I made a whole bunch of them to use later on cards or in my journals.

I hope you get some time to create this weekend, its so good for us to switch off and be doing something we love so much for just a short time. Happy Sunday xxx.

Country Roads Card Set

Country Roads Collection by Uniquely Creative is great for masculine cards. I created a set of cards recently for kits at my local scrapbook shop A Place To Create-Arana Hills. This kit is now available for purchase.
I used the 6×6 paper pad to make the cards and all the trimmings were from the collection.
The creative cuts go a long way when you are making cards. I had a lot left after making these! I will use them on layouts.
Kraft cardstock pairs with this collection beautifully, so I used it for a few of the card bases.

I hope you are having a restful creative weekend.

Country Roads by Uniquely Creative

I struggle to create masculine cards usually! But this one came together quite quickly and I just kept layering. Find the collection HERE.
I’m not sure what the trick is to getting the right combination of layers, just keep trying things until it looks balanced. I play with all the pieces for a while before committing to adhere. Then just add some gems and a splatter of paint!
That laser cut light bulb is the cutest! Hope you have a go at making some cards today. Happy weekend.

Uniquely Creative February Collection-Country Roads

This fabulous photo needed to be documented. This is just one piece of patterned paper and one piece of white cardstock. I added glimmer spray and sequins to bling up the waves.
I used the Sea Mark Making Stamp to add some “water spray” using Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean and Broken China. I also used the branding strip to embellish this page.
The Creative Cuts in this months Collection are really fun and easy to add to cards or layouts. Ive used lots of them to embellish this simple layout.
Tearing the paper gives you such a lovely effect and seems to work really well as the waves on this layout. Check out the whole collection here.
Happy Sunday friends.

BOY Layout!

Heres something different for me…a Boy layout. lol…I don’t have boys of my own but my partner has a couple. The new Country Roads Collection from Uniquely Creative is perfect for masculine pics and I have teamed it with Kraft cardstock (my fav if you are new to my blog )

Here’s a better view of all the lovely layers including some stamping in the background using a Mini Mark Making Stamp by Uniquely Creative called Tracks. I love it! This layout will be available as a kit from my lovely local scrapbooking store A PLACE TO CREATE its in Arana hills, Brisbane. It’s a rainy scrapbooking day today.

Stella & Ollie Layout share

Dog photograph credits go to my friend Sharon from A Place To Create Scrapbook shop. These two gorgeous puppies visit the shop regularly and are the sweetest. I don’t have a dog, so this was a fun layout for me. However, I could have used any photo on this versatile layout. ( BUT the dogs do look cute lol) I started with Kraft cardstock…my fav and used Alexander RENKE paper. Its so beautiful, I didn’t want to cover it.
Ive also used a Celebr8 mat board and some Vicki Boutin wash tape. Olive seam binding ribbon, gold pearls from Uniquely Creative and a doily cut in half make this a simple but interesting layout. Ive also added a leaf die cut from Kraft.
I toyed with the idea of another mat in Aqua to back the whole layout but decided I like it without. What do you think? Aqua, or No? This layout will soon be a kit at A Place To Create – Arana Hills.

Have a great Sunday, its February tomorrow…oh my goodness!
